There are also significant infrastructure developments that are part of the project, including airstrips, roads, shipyards and slipways. Social infrastructure developed as part of the project includes schools and medical facilities that cater for a population of 3,000 in the region.

Veneer and Plywood
RH's Panakawa timber processing facility in Western Province was established in 1996-1997. It was until recently operating solely as a veneer processing mill, and expanded to incorporate plywood processing in 2007. The facility employs approximately 570 people.
The operations' principal products are high-quality timber veneer and plywood. RH won the Manufacturers Council of Papua New Guinea's "Exporter of the Year" award in 2003.
