Shiela hails from Balimo District in Western Province, the place famous for its annual Gogodala Canoe Festival. She received her professional education at the Rumginai School of Nursing in Western Province. Shiela joined the Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group in 1999. She has since been based at the Integrated Timber Processing Facility at Panakawa / Western Province.
Shiela has considerable experience. Her role involves admission of patients, preparing medicines, assisting doctors in emergency cases, assisting in deliveries of babies and preparing medical referrals and reports. Shiela also educates the people of Panakawa on personal hygiene, health care and nutrition, family planning and the prevention of HIV & AIDS. The importance of her work is paralleled by her dedication. She is a highly valued member of the Group.
